What is Faux Finishing?

It is a technical application of paints and other materials that are skillfully manipulated to create or replicate textures and patterns. Most any surface can have a finish made to simulate wood, stone, marble, animal hide, olde world plaster, and many more textures. A master faux finisher is experienced in the art for ten or more years; staying educated in the medium and current styles.
